What is it?

Robotics and Automation are two of the fastest growing career paths today in the engineering and manufacturing industries. Increasingly known as “Mechatronics”, this field combines mechanics, electronics, and computer technology to create more efficient products and machines. A robotics and automation engineer helps to make manufacturing processes safer and easier, while saving time and money.

What will I do?

  • Design and build automated machines to perform a certain task, typically in a manufacturing environment

  • Build and test software that manages the machine’s performance

  • Make sure robotic machines are working correctly and improve their efficiency and output

  • Fix any problems or breakdowns that occur with the robotic machines or production facility
