A Database Administrator is a specialized computer systems administrator who maintains electronic databases for a business or organization, keeping the data organized, secure and useful for business activities such as creating reports, forecasting sales, taking inventory, or performing marketing campaigns.
What will I do?
A Database Administrator uses specialized software to store and organize data. They will install, upgrade and maintain the database server and applications to utilize the data. They will monitor the security of the data, maintain proper storage requirements, and manage the activity and number of users that access the data. They must also back-up and archive the data in case of a system failure.
