PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Community Action Partnership of Lake County (CAP) serves Lake County, Illinois with programs that help local families find self-sufficiency.

    Home Energy Bill Payment Assistance

    CAP administers the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP) and Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP).  CAP also administers a weatherization program.  Furnace assistance may also be available to LIHEAP eligible households.

    Rental and Mortgage Payment Assistance

    Job seekers may also qualify for a paid work experience (internship) that allows them to add practical experience to their resume. Rental and Mortgage Payment Assistance are offered to eligible tenants and homeowners facing a financial crisis. Tenants living in subsidized housing or with a Section-8 voucher may not be eligible. Temporary shelter for up to 5 days may be provided until stable housing is available.

     

    Food Pantry

    The food pantry is a free food resource for eligible residents.
