PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Lake County Housing Authority is a public housing agency for qualified low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Lake County Housing Authority manages several funded programs including public housing, HCV (Housing Choice Vouchers), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers funded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and subsidized affordable housing units for rental assistance.
Family Self Sufficiency Program (FSS)
The FSS Program is a voluntary program for participants who receive HUD Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Rental Assistance or living in Public Housing and wish to improve their financial situation. The program emphasizes employment as well as education and training in order to enable a higher degree of economic self-sufficiency. The Lake County Housing Authority provides Individual Training and Service Plan, Education and Enrichment Scholarships, Financial Literacy Workshops Financial and Budgeting Counseling, Rental Counseling at their respective offices.
Housing Counseling
LCHA provides education and assistance for all Lake County residents on topics related to financial literacy, credit repair, fair housing & lending, foreclosure and homelessness prevention, etc.
