LAKE COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Lake County Workforce Development administers Title 1 of the WIOA Workforce Development in Lake County, in addition to other grants including the Trade Adjust Act (TAA).

Training

Workforce Development qualifies individual jobseekers for training; the goal is to help unemployed and underemployed individuals gain skills necessary to compete in the current employment marketplace.

 

Work Experience

Job seekers may also qualify for a paid work experience (internship) that allows them to add practical experience to their resume.

 

Youth

Workforce Development has a team dedicated to working with young people ages 18 to 24 as they enter the workforce. Young people receive coaching in essential skills in addition to access to training and internship opportunities.

 

Business Services

The Business Service team, led by Workforce Development, is an integrated team of organizations seeking to connect employers and the workforce.  Workforce Development helps local businesses develop and implement training programs for current and potential employees.  Additional information can be found in the business service flyer.
